V. "Woody" Lucas, 90, of Macon, MO, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 at his home in Macon. Woody was born on January 4, 1917, in Excello, MO, the son of Silas William Lucas and Elsie Florence Peterson. On August 20, 1940, he was united in marriage to Madonna E. "Donna" Maloney in Moberly, MO. Woody was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Macon. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked at the mine and later as an automotive mechanic. Woody enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid horseman and showed his horses, in particular, Tennessee Walker and Fox trotter horses. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 29 and the Knights of Columbus in Macon. He is survived by his wife Donna, two daughters, Judy Clarke of Macon and Donna Kay Butner and husband Gerald, of Macon; four grandchildren, Tammy Linder and husband Jim of Elko, NV, Michael Butner and wife Michelle of Oxbow, OR, Darin Clarke of Macon, and Bryce Butner and wife Jennifer of Macon; and eight great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jerod Linder, Michaela, Trinity, Coy, and Chase Butner, Bayleigh and Bradley Butner. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law, Ronald Clarke, and one brother, William Edward "Ed" Lucas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 12:00 pm at the Immaculate Conception Church in Macon. Burial, with full military honors, will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Macon. Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2007 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Macon with a prayer service at 8:30 pm. The family suggests memorials to the donor's choice.
