Pete G. Acosta Jr., age 83, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to his heavenly home on Friday, April 26, 2013.
Pete was a resident of Albuquerque.
Pete enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, ride his bike, taking walks and was very fond of his horses. Pete will be fondly remembered as a kind man always willing to help everyone he could.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Eulalia Acosta, three sisters and one brother.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Annie Acosta, his children, Richard Acosta and his wife, Beverly, Martín Acosta and his wife, Lucille, Walter Martínez and his wife, Arlene, Clarence Martínez and his wife, Katherine, JoAnn Rodríguez and her husband, Dale and Mary Gutiérrez and her husband, Paul, 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his brother, Rudy Acosta and other numerous relatives and friends.
Pete will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, on 4th Street and Mildred. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Therese Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Pérez, John Paul Gutiérrez, Shawn Martínez, Tom Droelle, Tommy Domínguez and Dennis Lucero. Honorary bearers will be Eric Padilla, Jason Martínez and Paul Domínguez.
