Betty Idellia Murray, 69, of Picher died Monday, April 18, 2005, at Leigh Manor Nursing Home in Picher.

Murray was born June 6, 1935, in Lowell, Kan., to Robert and Francis (Still) Hopkins.

She lived in the Picher area most of her life.

She was a homemaker and a member of Eagle's Nest Fellowship.

She was married to James Murray. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1989.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Murray and Robert Murray; two stepdaughters, Gladys Cooper and Brenda Roberts; three brothers, Tom Hopkins, Glenn Darsel and Kenneth Speed, and two sisters, Hester and Francis Roberta.

Survivors include two daughters, Melba Creech of Picher and Terri Moore of Miami; one son, Mark Murray of Picher; three stepchildren, Sandi Burns of Miami, Jimmy Murray of Idaho and Richard Murray of Joplin, Mo.; five brothers, Robert Hopkins of Arizona, Charles Hopkins and Rex Hopkins, both of Galena, Kan., Buster Hopkins of Miami and Mike Hopkins of North Miami; one sister, Doris Fleming of Miami, 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher with the Rev. Loyd Stone officiating.

Burial will be in Pence Cemetery, east of Baxter Springs, Kan.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
