Alma O. (Joachim) Armstrong, 99, Green Bay resident, who would have celebrated her 100th birthday Oct. 4, passed away on Sept. 22, 2000, at a local nursing home. She was born Oct. 4, 1900, in Green Bay to the late Gasper and Felicia (La Tour) Joachim. On Aug. 27, 1923, she married Robert E. Armstrong. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1960. Alma was a long-time member of St. Willebrord Parish.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and M.J. Mommaerts, Green Bay; two grandchildren, Stephen (Julie Brooks) Mommaerts and Andrea (Dan) Platkowski; two great-grandchildren, Cara (Jared) Stedl and Ross Platkowski; three nieces, Dorothy Klika, La Verne Sellisen, and Carol Whitbek.

One sister, Laura Conard; and four brothers, Ernest Sr., William, Jules and Elmer Joachim preceded her in death.

Friends may call at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St., after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Alma's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all her special home care givers, especially Barb, Sue and Mary Ann, and all the staff at Santa Maria Nursing Home for their patience and care given the past four weeks.
