"Bessie 'Betty' Addy, a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, died Sunday May 15, 2005 at The Milford Senior Care in Milford, Pa. She was 85.
The daughter of the late Richard T. and Ethel Lewis Gill, she was born March 24, 1920 in Port Jervis, N.Y.
She was a member and past matron of the River Valley Chapter #33, O.E.S., Port Jervis; member of the Laurel Court #58; and Order of the Amaranth, Port Jervis.
A family statement reads: 'Betty loved to cook and care for her entire family, but nothing surpassed the love she held for each one of them.'
She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Addy; two sons, Larry Addy and his wife, Joan, of Port Jervis, and Douglas D. Addy and his wife, Lorretta, of Milford, Pa.; three brothers: James Gill of Port Jervis, Roy Gill of Port Jervis, and Robert Gill of Dumont, N.J.; one sister, Doris Hall of Port Jervis; four grandchildren: Wayne Addy and his wife, Christine, Tonya Addy and her husband, Sean, Jennifer Lane and Douglas D. Addy; six great-grandchildren: Tyler and Kendra Addy, Elijah and Aidan Addy, Jasmine E. Lane and Dylan M. Lane; step-granddaughter, Venus Marut; step-grandson, Robert Buchko; three step-great-granddaughters: Destiny Marut, Dominique Marut and Amanda Buchko; two step-great-grandsons, Nigal Buchko and Christopher Buchko; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Donald R. Addy; one grandson, Sean D. Addy; two brothers, Richard and Harry Gill; and two sisters, Ione Howell and Beatrice Litts.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 18 in the funeral home with the Reverends Jeff Farley and Stephen Huston officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery in Port Jervis, N.Y.
