Upon his arrival, he traveled to Portland, Oregon. In a few short years, he met Joseph Maylie and a business formed called The French Bakery located in downtown Portland. The business eventually flourished and branched into what became a very successful business called Pierre's French Bakery.
By the 1930's, Pogolotti changed his interests and moved to what was then a rural area beyond the city limits of Portland. There, he became a poultryman, raising and selling chickens from his farmhouse. By the 1960's, his farmhouse and property had become surrounded by suburban sprawl and was remembered for having fallen into a state of dilapidation.
A lifelong single man, he died at age 96 in Portland.
