Funeral services for Herbert Knox Askins, 59, retired employee of Stanley, Inc., Pulaski, were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Bennett-May Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Neal Dean, pastor of First Presbyterian Church. Burial took place in Rose Hill Cemetery at Fayetteville. Mr. Askins died at 9:45 o'clock Sunday night, May 9, in a Nashville hospital, following an extended period of declining health.
Born September 30, 1905, in Fayetteville, he was the son of the late Elgie Joseph Askins and Elizabeth Odell Clark Askins. He had been employed by Stanley, Inc., for twenty-seven years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon.
Mr. Askins is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alverne Bennett Askins; two brothers, Clark Askins, Houston, Texas, and E. J. Askins, Jr., Bonham, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. C. L. Benson and Mrs. Joe Grissom, both of Waco, Texas.
