Norma E. Bower, 87, Brockway, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

Born April 22, 1926, in Brockport, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Laura Yale Himes.

She was married to John E. Bower, who died Feb. 23, 1987.

She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Brockway.

She was retired. Over the years, Norma had been employed at the G.C. Murphy Co. in St. Marys and also at Stackpole Carbon. She also was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, John "Chris" Bower of Brockway; one brother, Harry Himes of Kersey; one sister, Elberta George of Moravian Falls, N.C.

She was also preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Tom Henretty officiating.

Burial will be in Beechtree Cemetery in Brockway.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc., Brockway.
