Mrs. Skoglund died Friday in a Canby foster care home of causes related to age. She was 98.
Born Clara Hagen on Nov. 21, 1891, in Fargo, N.D., she attended a deaf school several hundred miles from home in North Dakota. She moved to Canby with her family as an adolescent. She married George Kreidt in 1919. He died in 1945. She married John Skoglund on Aug. 12, 1951, in Portland. He died in 1960.
Mrs. Skoglund was a charter member of the Hope Lutheran Church of the Deaf in Portland.
Survivors include a sister, Marian Weber of Canby; and a stepdaughter, Mildred Johnson of Seattle.
