Charles B. Smith, 73, died Friday, April 26, 2013. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church, 1502 Knoxville Street in Fort Valley with Rev. Drue Thompson and Rev. Chet Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, April 29, 2013, at Rooks Funeral Home, 213 West Church Street in Fort Valley. Born in Byron to the late Kelly Belmont Smith and Euna Mae Railey Smith, Mr. Smith was retired from the Fort Valley Fire Department after 29 years of service and a member of Victory Baptist Church. He loved to fish and enjoyed bird watching. In lieu of flowers, please contact the family concerning donations to help with medical expenses. Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley is in charge of arrangements.
