Services for Lettie Breland French will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Union with Bro. Marcus Finch and Bro. Jon Martin officiating. Burial will be in Union City Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
Ms. French, 87, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Laird Hospital. She was an educator for 36 years. The majority of those years she taught reading at Union Public School. She also enjoyed quilting and cooking.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Parker and her husband Wayne of Union; son, Jackie French and his wife Paula of Decatur; granddaughter, Skylar French of Decatur; two grandsons: Josh Parker of Union and Sam French of Decatur; four sister-in-laws: Charlene Pearson, Jane Breland, Ivon Breland, and Ruby Breland; and, a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie H. French; and Arthur C. Vance: parents, Rev. and Mrs. Egbert Breland; and four brothers:Arthur, Cleveland, O.C., and Pete Breland.
Visitation was, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
