Verlon Vermell Hollandsworth, 65, of 2777 Oak Level Road, Bassett, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
She was born Sept. 20, 1938, in Carroll County, to Ted Lineberry and Arlie Brooks Montgomery Lineberry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Turner; a son Mike Bunner; and a sister, Bernice Frost.
She retired from the Bassett Chair Plant of Bassett Furniture Industries and she was a member of the Martinsville Church of Christ.
Surviving are her daughter, Darlene Marshall of Bassett; four sisters, Jeanette Mabe of Bassett, Helena Sexton of Galax, Frances Akers of Hillsville and Ethel Whitlow of Cana; one brother, T.J. Lineberry of Woodlawn; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Collins Funeral Services chapel in Bassett with Evangelist James Oldfield officiating. Burial will be in Henry Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home of Darlene and Bill Marshall, 80 Amber Drive, Bassett.
