From the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Wednesday, December 6, 1939, page 2:
  Funeral services for Arthur Becker, Marine, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of a sister, Mrs. August Kauhl, in Marine. Becker was fatally injured when his car was struck by a fast Illinois Central passenger train.  Rev. A. Kuehn, pastor of the Marine Evangelical Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Marine Cemetery.
  An inquest will be held at Litchfield on Friday. After the car had been struck, members of the train crew took Becker to that city, the next one on their line, and it was there that he was pronounced dead.

Pallbearers were John Conrad, John Becker Jr., George Becker Jr., Elmer Grotefendt, Elmer Espenschied and Fred Becker.
