Father of Amelia, Karl Charles, Hermine and Otto, with wife Wilhelmine. Father of Fred W., and twins Johney and Louis with wife Auguste. Left Spiegelberg Forest area of Germany near small villages of Schönwalde and Sandkrug. Immigrated to United States with Wilhelmine and 4 children from Bremen, Germany to New York City aboard SS Donau, arriving October 12, 1878. Settled in Lapeer County, MI.
