After quite a long illness, Mrs S H Benjamin died at her home at Quarry four miles from here, on Saturday afternoon at 6 o'clock.

Burial in Rock Church Cemetery.

Mrs Benjamin was 66 years of age and was a noble Christian woman, having been a devoted member of the Baptist church.

Survived by 9 children: Samuel, Pope, James and Winifred Benjamin and Mrs Hill, Mrs T J Snyder, Mrs James Nixon and Hattie and Daisy Benjamin.

She was a sister of Mr s g major and Mrs Mary Green, Mrs Anna Watson and Mrs W. A Clyde

Isabella Major, daughter of Rev Samuel B Major and Matilda Turner Major (1846-1913) married Samuel H Benjamin on June 2, 1867. He was born in 1841 and died in 1910.

A native of Laurens County, he was in Confederate service as a member of Co F, 3rd S C V. Farmer and merchant near Greenwood.

After research, these are the children of Samuel Harrison Benjamin and Isabella Major Benjamin
