July 7, 1931 – April 22, 2013
Juanita C. Pingel, 81, formerly of Maple Park, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on April 22, 2013 at Tower Hill Healthcare Center in South Elgin. Juanita was born July 7, 1931 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Edna (Tatera) Blincoe.
After graduating high school, Juanita took courses to become a nurse. She spent many years caring for patients at Delnor Hospital in Geneva later becoming an EMT and volunteered for the fire department in Maple Park. On February 18, 1950 she married the love of her life, Lawrence Pingel. The couple made their home in Maple Park. In 1988 Juanita and Lawrence moved from Maple Park to Ocala Florida. Four years later, on February 7, 1992, she lost Lawrence. Juanita was a longtime member of the "Legion Wives Club" with the American Legion Post 312 in Maple Park. Juanita was very creative and always found the time for working on crafts. She also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen. Juanita was an unselfish, caring, and nurturing person, which led to her being devoted to her career as a nurse. Juanita continued to use her medical skills and knowledge caring for her family and friends in many situations. Although she was devoted to her career of helping others, there was no one more important to her than her family and any opportunity she had to spend with her sister-in-law, Dorothy, was time well spent.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Bob) Martin of Wheaton, IL; two sons, L. John (Jan) Pingel of El Cajon, CA, and James R. Pingel of Montgomery, IL; grandchildren, Darcy Martin, Marcus and Wesley Pingel; and her brothers, James and David Blincoe.
She now joins her loving husband of 42 years, Lawrence Pingel; her daughter, Debbie Pingel; her parents; and her brother, Jerome Blincoe.
