The dead body of Miss Irene Bair, daughter, of. Mr., and Mrs: William Bair, of near Bonneauville, was found floating on the water in a pond at Hoke's Quarry, hear Bittingers, Sunday afternoon. The girl had been missing since nine. o'clock Friday evening. She was aged 18 years, 3 months, and 17 days. Everything points to suicide. Miss Bair had been employed at a sewing factory in Hanover and boarded with the family of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fink. She left the house Friday evening and that is the last any one is known to have seen her. Saturday Mrs. Fink found the girl had not returned to her room, but did not become, alarmed; Saturday evening, aftercoming home from a moving picture entertainment, Mrs. Fink went to the girl's room to see if she had come back, and then opened a note .... Miss Bair leaves, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bair; of near Bonneauville; two brothers, Arthur and William Bair, at home; and a sister, Mrs. Percy Grove, of Red Run. Gettysburg Star And Sentinel Saturday, June 22, 1918. Also note, her death certificate lists her death as 16th, though the 14th is on her tombstone.
