He was born in the town of Orange Oct. 29, 1851, and was the youngest son of Clarisa Wells and Josiah Rappleye.
In 1872 he was united in marriage to Miss Ella Potter, who died in 1881. To them were born two daughters, Miss Erva L. Rappleye of Monterey, and Mrs. Lillian C. Sherman of Watkins, both of whom survive.
In later years he married Miss Ada Benham, and resided at Rock Stream for a number of years. To them was born one daughter, Edith, who is now Mrs. S. F. Senitiver of Waterloo. Two sister also survive: Mrs. Daniel Owen of Bradford and Mrs. Elizabeth Powell of Watkins; also several nieces and nephews.
During his last years he was kindly cared for by Mrs. Hughey.
The funeral was held from the home of Mrs. Hughey Saturday, Jan. 24th at one o'clock with burial in Tyrone cemetery. The Rev. W. Y. Roberts of Rock Stream officiated." - Watkins Express, Wed., January 28, 1925.
