Charles H. Adkins, 82, a long time Hagerstown resident, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Golden Living Center, Richmond, where he had resided for the past several years, He was born in Pennville, IN on June 16, 1930, the son of Cecil and Anna Adkins and was a life long resident of Wayne County. Charles was a 1948 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He was a farmer, a retired employee of Perfect Circle/Dana Corp., operated Kleen Air of Indiana and Helping Hands transport van service. He was past-president of the parents group at Green Acres.
Survivors include 2 children, Ronnie Adkins (Jody) and Cathy Adkins, both of Richmond; 2 step-daughters, Esther Marie Evans of Connersville and Tamara Arlene Wetter of Fort Wayne; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan (Collins) Adkins in 1987; his second wife, Martha (Abshear) Adkins in 2010; a son, James Cecil Adkins in 1955 and 2 brothers, Ray Adkins and George Adkins.
