Donna married Eugene Martinitz on July 7, 1961 in Solomon, Kansas and to this union a son Michael was born. Donna worked as a bookkeeper for Gas Appliance in Abilene for many years, United Telephone in Junction City, and for the John Willome Accounting Firm in Junction City for many years until her retirement.
Donna is survived by her daughter Delores Elaine Ruhnke and husband Aubrey of Abilene and a son, Michael Eugene Martinitz and close friend Christina Lamoreaux of Abilene, two step-grandchildren, Morgan Ham and husband Felipa of Kansas City, Missouri, and Logan Ruhnke of Abilene, two step-great grandchildren Camilo and Josiah Ham. She is also survived by a half-sister Naomi Rider. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Martinitz, her mother, Nettie (Arnold) Bowell and father Walter Bowell, and three half-brothers, Douglas Bowell, Laron Bowell and Donald Bowell
Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene City Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Monday evening, April 22, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Methodist Church or Home Health Agency of Dickinson County or to the choice of the donor and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third Street, Abilene Kansas 67410.
