David Lovell Shirley, aged 52, of Camden, died Friday,June 10. He was a truck driver,a Korean War veteran,and a member of the Des Arc Church of Christ and V.F.W.
A native of Des Arc Mr. Shirley was a driver for a Searcy truck line. He had been ill with a stomach malignancy since October 1982.
Survivors are his wife,Judith Ann Teague Shirley,six sons: Audie Shirley of Griffithville,David Shirley,Jr. of Cabot,Charlie Shirley of Des Arc,Robert Shirley of Sapulpa,Okla.,Anthony and Michael Shirley,both of Camden. Five daughters:Brenda Tredwell and Martha Eldridge, both of Des Arc,Bernice Curtis of Utah, Crystal and Lori Shirley,both of Camden;his father,Audie Shirley of Des Arc,two brothers;;Oneal(Lucy)Shirley of Converse, Indiana and William(Marie)Shirley of Heber Springs;seven sisters: Mrs. Dortha(Bill)Bone,Mrs.Ruthel(Estes)Stanley,and Mrs.Joyce(Benny)Taylor,all of Des Arc;Mrs.Alma Jones of Jonesboro,Mrs.Willene(Junior)Prince of Griffithville,Mrs.Bertha(Jim)Buffington of Cabot, and Mrs.Fay(Lamar)Dill of N. Little Rock, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother,Mrs. Maxie Shirley,a daughter,Annie Lee Shirley,and a brother,Billy Don Shirley.
CAUSE OF DEATH: Stomach Cancer
