Ruth Kaufmann, was born in Berlin and died with her husband, Ernst Kaufmann, and their two sons, Thomas Kaufmann and Stefan Kaufmann,in a concentration camp after being transported out of Holland, where they were staying outside of Germany.

Ruth escaped to The Netherlands with her husband, Ernest Kaufmann, and their two young sons. On April 5, 1944, the Kaufmann family was transported from The Netherlands to the Theresienstadt ghetto in Czechoslovakia. Just a month later, on May 18 1944, they were all four sent to the Auschwitz Birkenau Extermination Camp in Poland. By 1945 they were all declared officially dead. Elwina and George did have a son, Emanuel who fled to London and died in London in the 1960s.
