BENJAMIN --Reed Markham Ashby, 13, Benjamin School seventh grade pupil, died at the Payson hospital at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday of an infection caused by a sore on his leg. He was ill only two days.
He was born Jan. 10, 1932, at Benjamin, a son of Elias and Marjory Cook Ashby. Besides his parents, he is survived by a grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Cook, Cedar Valley and eight brothers and sisters, Pfc Edward Ashby, U. S. Army overseas; Lloyd C., Marvin, Steven, Kenneth, Maretta, LaVeda and Maxine Ashby.
