Daughter of William Smith and Charlotte (Lewis) Whipple. She was with her parents in the 1880 census. Myrtle was either born Salem or Plymouth Michigan (birth record of son Harold).

Myrtle was married three times.

She married Charles "Charley" Allen Moon on Feb 27, 1895 in Michigan. Myrtle was age 22 living in Northfield and Charles was 24 of Ypsilanti. Witness to the marriage was her sister Cornelia Whipple of Northfield. Charles Moon was a gardener and farmer, the son of Allen and E. Callie (Shield) Moon.

Myrtle and Charles had a son Harold Whipple Moon born April 25, 1897 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Charles died in April 1900 at age 29. Note: (When Myrtle married in 1899, she was recorded as a widow so DOD for first husband Charles may be incorrect.)

Myrtle married Frank Porter March 5, 1899 in Ohio, he the son of Enoch and Mary (Williams) Porter, and to Daniel Otto. Myrtle was 28 yrs of age living in Toledo Ohio and Frank was 33 also of Toledo. His occupation was that of a painter.

In 1900 Myrtle and Frank were living in Toledo and had been married one year and did not have children. Myrtle was born in Michigan and Frank in Ohio, parents born in New York. Frank was a foreman at the street car shop. Also in the household was Myrtle's son Harold then age 5 and a niece Daisey Webb age 13.

Myrtle Porter married third Daniel Otto of Toledo on July 16, 1908. She was 37 and he was 45, son of Frederick A. and Helen (Volker or Baelke) Otto, born in Germany. Myrtle and Daniel were married in Windsor, Canada. Her mother Charlotte Whipple was a witness. Myrtle was recorded as a widow at this marriage. Daniel was also widower and working as a clerk for a furniture dealer.

In 1910 Myrtle and Daniel were living in Toledo and her widowed mother Charlotte, then age 72, was residing with them. Also in the household was Myrtle's son Harold W. Moon, age 13. Daniel was the manager of a magazine company.

Myrtle died at age 47at Mercy Hospital in Toledo from pyosalpingitis and myocardial insufficiency following an operation. Burial was in Plymouth Michigan on October 27, 1920, Boyer-Kruse, Undertakers. Informant on her death record was her son Harold W. Moon of Detroit.

Daniel Otto died in 1940 in Toledo.
