"Dear Sister, I am tired of waiting for you and Myra (Note: Myra Tinney) to write do not believe you ever will again. It has been over six weeks since we heard from any of you all. What is the matter with you? Harvest time I feel pressume. Well as it is Sunday and a very lonely one at that. Will try to write you a short letter. It is very pleasant today we have only had two or three nice days. I have been sick several days with cold and sore throat-hardley able to sit-up today. Ethel and I are all alone. Lo has just gone back to his work four miles in the country. Ella is visiting. Ella has a nice new couch. She took orders and sold $10.00 worth of goods and got it for a prize. We are all proud of it. She is still in the Beanery she made $1.60 one day last week how is that for a little girl. We are going to plant garden and potatoes this week. I suppose you have little potatoes and something green to eat in your garden. We will get some plants soon we can plant them in the yard we do not have yard or garden fences everything is outside long side the roads are all planted in beans cabbage and potatoes. It is lovely here in Spring and summer. But take care for winter. I made a new rug it is very pretty made of brown and black and worked with blue and yellow san silk. We gave Alfred a little birthday dinner his being the last one for this year. We only had a few. Is your fruit all killed? They claim it is all ruined here the trees even killed. I cannot think of anything more to write so will close by asking you and yours to write soon. Your loving sister, Allie Carroll. Ella wrote to Myra and Lou? sometime ago and I wrote to Myra.
