Helen F. Preira, 92, of Burlington, widow of Dominic J. Preira, passed away peacefully Saturday (August 21, 2010). Born in Burlington May 22, 1918, daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Procan) Szegda, she resided in town her entire life.

She is survived by her three children, Joseph A. Preira of Farmington, Wayne J. Preira of Torrington and Lori Jean Bereza of Burlington, two grandsons David J. Bereza and Daniel P. Bereza both of Burlington and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Henry Szegda and two sisters Mary Ann Gillette and Patranella "Nellie" Pavlik.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville TODAY from 6-8 p.m. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Thursday (August 26) at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville at 10 a.m. Burial will be Calvary Cemetery, Collinsville.
