Suggested edit: George Robert Evans, Butler Mo. passed away suddenly at his home Dec. 4, 1967. He was born in Bates County July 15, 1890, the son of Joseph Samuel and Sarah Elizabeth Richards Evans. He lived in the county all his life. He married Amy Cecil Miller in Butler Mo, Nov. 20, 1912, to this union 11 children were born. Robert Glen 1913, Eugene Bentley 1916, Orville Leroy 1917, Buford Carroll "Boss" 1919, Bertha Louise 1921, Mildred Dorine 1923, Margie June 1925, Eva Lena 1927, Rosa Lee 1928, Lola Mae 1934, Everett Paul 1937. The family farmed for a living until after the children were raised Robert & Amy retired from farming and moved into the city of Butler where he owned and operated Bob Evans furniture until his retirement.
He is survived by all his children, 30 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, one brother John William Evans. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife Amy of 47 years in 1959, one son, Everett Paul in 1937, one sister Lola Evans-Nelson in 1966, one brother Major Bennett Evans in 1966 and one grandson Stanley Martin "Marty" Brittingham. in 1966. Funeral services were held Dec. 6, at Culver-Underwood Funeral Home with Elder Leroy Beckham and Rev. Richard Spellman officiating. Interment by his wife at Oak His Cemetery Butler Missouri.
