They moved to Denver Colorado where Grandpa's Dad said there was work. They arrived and there was no work. They had a baby. The Dr said to put him in the oven because he was cold and he died. They had 3 other children Marvin, Martha and Anna May.
They moved to Southern California where Grandpa worked for Youngblood's Market. In 1937 Grandma and Grandpa went to work for Kirkil Tire and Rubber company. They made tires for aircraft.
They loved to fish and camp on their vacation and days off. They often took 2 of their grandchildren George and Charlene with them.
In 1967 they both retired and bought a small farm in Woodlake, CA. They loved their animals. Grandma especially loved her cow "Bessy." This is where Grandpa got sick. He thought he had a cold that wouldn't go away. We went for vacation there that summer. He was coughing alot. Sometime in October he was sent to Los Angeles for diagnosis. He was diagnosed with lung cancer. He was going for treatment when he died.
