Mrs. Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Cason Landon, 76 of Patterson, passed away Tuesday morning, April 23, 2013, at Mayo Health System – Waycross.
Born in Patterson, GA on December 2, 1936, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life. Mrs. Landon had been a seamstress at the shoe factory and was a member of the Offerman Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Pierce County Senior Citizen Center and was in the Senior Dependable Group. Mrs. Landon loved to garden and crochet. She also enjoyed doing for others and was a prayer warrior.
She was a daughter of the late James Allen & Eddie Lou Chancey Cason. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. R. "Doc" Landon; a son, Dan Landon; a sister, Devonda Thomas; and two brothers, Sonny Cason and Ray Cason.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debra & Gomer Mansfield and Patricia & Jim Jones all of Patterson and Janet Peacock of Blackshear; a son, Don Landon & Linda Aspinwall of Screven; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty & Phillip Smith and Bonnie Cason all of Jesup and Peggy & Raymond Mansfield of Screven; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Oliver & Gail Cason and Sammy & Susie Cason all of Patterson; 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Southeast Cancer Unit, PO Box 2764, Waycross, GA 31502.
Visitation for Mrs. Landon will be held Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Landon will be held Thursday afternoon, April 25, 2013, at 3:00 o'clock from the Offerman Baptist Church.
Mrs. Landon will lay in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Offerman Cemetery.
