Adolph Rayman Trotchie, 73, of Great Falls, died of cancer Sunday, June 3, at his home.

A rosary is 9:30 a.m. Thursday, with a Mass following at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory.

Rayman was born Nov. 18, 1938, to John and Sarah (Allery) Trotchie in Havre. His proudest moment was when he graduated high school in 1958. He graduated valedictorian of his class from Miles City. He was a star athlete who excelled in basketball, football and boxing. Rayman worked as a rod carrier for various construction companies. In 1970, he became a union ironworker and worked on the Alaskan pipeline and many other jobs in many states throughout his life.

He was an enrolled member of Turtle Mountain and a very proud Metis, who loved to learn about the history and about the role his family had in the Metis culture. He loved to travel and did so every chance he could get. Rayman will be missed by his family and friends.

Rayman is survived by daughters RaeLynn (Watt) Mangus of Lovell, Wyo., and Elizabeth Ann (Troy) Azure of Clarksville, Tenn.; son Keith (Cindy) Allen of Spokane; brothers Walter of Post Falls, Idaho, Michael of Great Falls and Lawrence of Helena; sister Laura (Neil) Cole of Dodson; and grandchildren Kyle James, Rayman John, Jean Luke, Taylor James, and Sarah Ruel all of Spokane, Remi Allery Trottier of Eugene, Ore., Neil Loren Cole of Dodson, Brittany, Lorena, and Niquita Louise of Lovell, Wyo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother John Julius; sister Lorraine Barbara Mee; nephew Gary Leo Trotchie and niece Grace Maxine Lopez.
