Robert "Bob" Edward Foster passed away peacefully Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Life Care Center of Greeley. He had just celebrated his 85 birthday.

Bob was born February 21, 1925 to Edward B. and Ruth E. (Phillips) Foster in Ault, CO. He grew up in the Purcell area, where he attended Prairie View Elementary and both Galeton and Eaton high schools, class of 1943.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp trained in Aviation Ordinance and Aircraft Armorer from June 12, 1943 to April 5, 1946. Most of his service time was in the Pacific, in and around the Marshall Islands.

On July 9, 1949 he married his beloved wife of 58 years Dorothy Lear. They made their home in Greeley, CO. Bob worked as a brick mason for 40 years and was extremely proud of his craft. He was a member of Bricklayers Local #10, and was awarded "Brick Layer of the Year" in 1981. Bob was also a member of the Elks and VFW Post 6624.

Bob's passion was for the Colorado outdoors. His famous pickles and goose jerky were products of his favorite pastimes: hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He loved sharing those passions with his family and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
