She belonged to the North Star Grange. A very active member of the Lincoln County Historical Society, she was the third generation of a pioneering family in this area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; a sister, Gertrude McAviney; and a brother, Herbert Lang. She leaves two daughters, Lois Carpenter of Paluma, North Queensland, Australia; and Ellen (and Jack) Benson of Spokane; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a sister, Francis Duckey of Mercer Island, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews."
