Funeral Services for Joe Neil Carrell will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Ardmore with Rev. Darryl Moore and Dr. Robert Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Young Cemetery with Rev. Bill Freeman officiating. Joe was born March 12, 1935 in Berwyn, OK to Chambliss and Zell Carrell. He passed from this life on April 22, 2013 at his home in Ardmore. Joe was a graduate of Dickson High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Glenda Battle Carrell, on September 23, 1954 in Baum, Oklahoma. Joe was a lifelong resident of this area and had many passions in life. He loved all of his family, friends and four-legged creatures. Joe was a part of numerous organizations in the community; he was a member Mary NiBlack Baptist Church, he was a Shriner, a Mason, and one of the original ten members of the Slow Poke Car Club. His career included one of the founders of Ardmore Dragway. Throughout his life he was owner and operator of several service stations, A&B Tire Co, and the A&B Golf Cart Service.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister-in-law Ann Carrell, In-Laws Pat & Mae Battle. Joe is survived by his children Rick Carrell and wife Brenda of Ardmore; Toni Carrell and Keith of Ardmore; Pat Carrell and wife Meredith of Oklahoma City; Juana Payne and David of Ardmore; Grandchildren, Danieal Belt and husband Creig of Ardmore; Will Carrell of Ardmore; Kim-e Carrell of Ardmore; Chase and Lauren Carrell of Oklahoma City; Trey and Amber Payne of Ardmore; Kally Hunter and son Kole, Great-grandchildren; Kasen and Greycee Belt of Ardmore. Siblings, Diane Blakemore and husband Otis of Healdton; Glen Carrell and wife Jan of Seminole; Robert Carrell of Ardmore; Brother-in-Law Don Battle and wife Sharon of Sand Springs.
Serving Joe as Pallbearers will be Will Carrell, Trey Payne, Chase Carrell, Creig Belt, Keith Weems, David Hunter. Honorary bearers will be his Fellow Shriners, Slow Pokes Car Club, McDonald's Coffee Drinkers Crew.
