Mrs. Barbara Abernathy, wife of Matthew Abernathy, died at the family home in Lutesville January 27, at the age of 61 years, 5 months, and 10 days.
She leaves a husband, two daughters, six sons (one of them our worthy county clerk), and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. D.E. Barrett Friday afternoon, from the residence to Slaybaugh Cemetery.
Joseph Abernathy, who is teaching at Parma, Mo.; James Abernathy, telegrapher at Pevely, Mo.; and Mrs. Will Lutes of Farmington, Mo. attended the funeral of their mother last Friday.
