It is with sadness we announce the passing of JAY HARDING ATWOOD beloved husband of Eileen Atwood. He was born in Raymond on July 26, 1930, the eldest son of Jesse and Helen Atwood, and passed away on Friday, September 9, 2005 at the age of 75 years.

He was predeceased by his parents and a younger brother, Larry, two infant children, Patricia and Jerry, and one infant granddaughter, Kelly Ann Wescott, sister-in-law, Yvonne.

Jay is survived by his wife Eileen and was a loving father of Dalin (Derryl), Mark (Elaine), Sandra (Michael Wescott), David (Allison), Larry, Carolyn (John McCracken). Fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is also survived by brothers Dan (DeeAnn), Layne (Kayla), Harding (Carol), Wren (Linda), Jan (Linda), sisters Nola( David Brandley), and Karlee (Duane Howard), and many nephews and nieces.

Jay was an outdoor person, he loved camping, fishing and hunting, spending his retirement years helping Dalin on his farm and in his plumbing business.

An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jay served in a variety of callings and especially enjoyed his service as a worker in the Temple.
Friends may meet the family at Christensen Salmon Funeral Home, 327 - 10th Street South, Lethbridge on Tuesday, September 13th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. OR on Wednesday at the Church from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Knight Street Chapel in Raymond on Wednesday, September 14th at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Richard Wilde officiating. In honor of Jay's memory memorial contributions may be made to the L.D.S. Humanitarian fund. [Lethbridge Herald]
