Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha McFadden McElveen were held March 15, 2001, at Redeemed Unity Holy Temple in Manning, conducted by the Rev. Ronnie McElveen and the Rev. Dr. Carolyn M. Moore. Burial followed at Springbank Cemetery in Kingstree directed by Redmond-Richardson. Mrs. McElveen, 72, died March 9, 2001, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. She was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Enoch and Jannie Mae Fulmore-McFadden. She was a member of Redeemed United Holy Temple. She was married to the late Isiah William McElveen. Survivors are: eight sons, David McElveen of Cades; Kelley McElveen, Ronald Mc-Elveen, the Rev. Ronnie Mc-Elveen and the Rev. Dannie McElveen, all of Kingstree; William McElveen of Sumter; Charles McElveen of Olanta; and Maj. Christopher McElveen of Ft. Irwin, CA; six daughters, Shirley McKnight of Lake City; the Rev. Dr. Carolyn Moore and Mrs. Sylvia Robinson, both of Columbia; Mrs. Judy Dozier of Kingstree; Karen McKnight of Pascagola, MS; Mrs. Teresa Sumpter of Greeleyville; three grandchildren she reared as her own, Mrs. Betty Mouzon of Rochester, NY; Petty Officer Purnell McElveen of Norfolk, VA; and Isiah Bradley of Salters; three sisters, Mrs. Clarice Kennedy of Gamble, SC; Mrs. Aliphine Williams of Olanta; and Mrs. Ozeda Wilson of Tampa, FL; and two brothers, Charles McFadden and Lewis McFadden, both of Lake City.
