Funeral services for Tom Spoonemore, 64, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 1990 at the United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ronald Sims officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Memorial gifts to the Heart Fund would be appreciated by the family.

He was born March 8, 1925 at Walnut, Kan., the son of Thomas and Anna (Horton) Spoonemore. He moved with his family to the Chugwater-Torrington area in 1936. He received his early education in Douglas.

He married Edith Rallens on August 19, 1944 at Vancouver, Wash. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. They lived in the Torrington area until 1967 when they moved to Cheyenne. In 1973 they moved to Medicine Bow where he worked in a coal mine. Mrs. Spoonemore died there in 1974 and Tom moved back to Torrington, where he worked for the Town of Torrington and Lamb Construction as a heavy equipment operator. He retired in 1987.

In 1986 he received his GED from Eastern Wyoming College where he was valedictorian of his class. He attended the college for one year after that.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Virginia) Erickson of Meeker, Colo., Mrs. Timothy (Terri) Sims of Miles City, Mont.; a son, Kenneth Daniels of Santa Maria, Calif.; three sisters, Hazel McCoid, Jeannie Albaugh and Edna Flury, all of Torrington; a brother, Meridith Stovall in Washington; a sister-in-law, Lena Stovall of Torrington; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one grandchild.

Friends may call at the Colyer Funeral Home on Wednesday until 7 p.m.; Thursday morning and at the service.
