The ship's $20,000.00 bond was signed by Wilson Jacobs and Henry H. Tillinghast of Providence. The American newspapers reported Kingbird's loss on 26 July 1781.
18 March 1782: Boston, MA, a petition signed by Tristram Coffin was submitted to the Governor and Council requesting that Wilson Jacobs be commissioned as commander of the schooner "Reprisal," a privateer. The commission was issued the same day.
10 August 1805: Died in the port city of Portobello, Colon, Panama while on expedition.
