SPEARFISH - Edna Wilen Lehto, 85, Spearfish, died Monday, September 2, 2002, at her home in Spearfish.

Edna Fern Evelyn Lindberg was born on October 19, 1916, to Axel and Emma (Hendrickson) Lindberg near New England, ND. She grew up on the family farm near New England, ND. She met her husband Friidolf (Fred) Wilen in Gackle, ND, and they were married June 2, 1935. Fred died in 1966. Edna then worked in area hospitals as a nurse. She married Emil Lehto on October 3, 1981, in Spearfish. Emil died September 1, 1983, and Edna has continued to make Spearfish her home.

Edna especially enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and puzzles.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children and their spouses, her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Edna was a lifetime member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, one daughter, two sons, four grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nine brothers, and two sisters.

Visitation will be at the Carlsen and Aldinger Funeral Home in Spearfish on Thursday, September 5, 2002, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and at the church for one hour prior to the service on Friday. A memorial service will be held at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2002, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with Max Willliamson and Dave Lindberg officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish. The Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Spearfish has been entrusted with the arrangements.
