Meda was born May 27, 1910, in Yuma Colo., the only child of Fred and Madge (Elwood) Strong,
At a very early age she moved with her parents to Wyoming where she grew up and attended school graduating from Lingle High School in 1929. She went on to attend the University of Wyoming for two years.
On April 29, 1933 she married Raymond Hauf. They lived in the Gleaners Union Community northwest of Torrington for 30 years.
They later divorced and she moved to Torrington in 1970. On April 14, 1979, she married William Scott Hollman.
During her lifetime Meda worked as an insurance agent for Farmers Union for 40 years. She also worked the Holly Sugar campaign for 22 years before retiring in 1985.
She was an active member of the Extension Club, 4-H leadership, Farmers Union Youth Leadership, the Senior Friendship Center the Goshen County Historical Society and a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by sons, Richard and Bill Hauf of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter Maxine Bowers of Bondurant, Iowa; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sons, Donald and Harold Hauf. (The Midweek Telegram, Torrington, WY, September 23. 1998)
