Anna Mills, 90, of New Ulm died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, April 22, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Grant Bode officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Anna is the mother of Spencer Mills of Flagstaff.

Anna Mills, 90, of New Ulm died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, April 22, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Grant Bode officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Anna is survived by her daughters, Linda (Ivan) Harris, Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada; Sandy (Tom) Bauer of New Ulm; a son, Spencer Mills of Flagstaff, Arizona; grandchildren, Stacy Bauer, Melissa Bauer, Justin Barnes, Sarah Barnes; great granddaughter, Ilia Bauer-Jones; brother, Henry Anders of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and by a sister-in-law, Marge Devine of Sioux City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Mills; infant sons, Randall and Calvin; sisters, Martha Ludwig, Etta Olson, Phyllis Muth, Alvina Jorgenson; and by brothers, Al and Ernie Anders.

Anna Mabel Mills was born November 25, 1922 in Sioux City, Iowa to Henry and Lydia (Sendl) Anders. She was a 1941 graduate of East High School, Sioux City. Anna was united in marriage to Raymond Mills on March 7, 1952 in Sioux City. After marriage they resided in Sioux City where she was employed at Wincharger Corp. and JC Penney's. They moved to New Ulm in 1955 where she worked at the Hobby Shop and with the New Ulm Park and Rec as an Arts and Crafts instructor.

Anna was active with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was a volunteer on many committees. Anna and Ray started The Redeemer Views newsletter and the church directory. Anna also loved baking and decorating birthday cakes for seniors.

Anna will always be remembered for being the neighborhood mom. She was also well known for her handiwork and crafting skills.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of choice.
