Alan W. Anderson
TORRINGTON – A memorial service for Alan W. Anderson, 70, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Savior Lutheran Church by Pastor Marvin Temme.
Burial with military honors will be accorded by Marlyn B. Anderson Post No.56 of the American Legion at Veteran and the Wyoming National Guard.
Mr. Anderson died May 6, 1993, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb. He was born Feb. 17, 1923, at Cambridge, Neb, the son of Clarence "Bud" and Alma (Huckfeldt) Anderson. The family moved to Veteran in 1936 where he finished his schooling and graduated in 1940.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He then joined the Wyoming National Guard in 1947 and served with the training sit unit at Camp Guernsey. He retired in 1984. Mr. Anderson was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He was an avid gardener and also enjoyed golfing, bowling, boating, and fishing.
Survivors include five daughters, Diana Anderson of Torrington, Donna L. Anderson of Mission, S.D., Alana Hohnholt of Wheatland, Pennie Anderson of Thermopolis and Terry A. Anderson of Denton, Texas.
Also surviving are six brothers, Charles, Dale, and Willard "Bill", all of Torrington, C.J. "Jr." of Glendo, Ken of Modesto, Calif., and Ed of Sun City, Ariz., a sister, Donna Bolger of Casper and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Monte and Howard; and one granddaughter.
Memorials to the church would be appreciated by the family.
The Colyer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
