He died in Newcomb Twp, Champaign Co, Illinois which is north of Mahomet on Rt 47.
Enlisted Civil War 20 Aug 1862 age 33, Pvt Co I, Illinois 25th Infantry Regiment for 3yrs, on 20 Aug 1863 he transferred to new Illinois Co H 25th Ill Inf, Mustered Out: 9 Jun 1865 in Nashville, TN thanks to Russell Kasper for this info..... Pleman is my 3rd great uncle, per my dad: Delmar Leo Hinton, Pleman's name is pronounced Poleman. Pleman was born in Circleville, Pickaway Co, OH, when he was about 4yrs old the family emigrated to Perry Twp near Colfax, Clinton County, Indiana.....he married 12 Mar 1848 to Elizabeth Ann Keedy a twin, dau of Henry & Nancy Keedy(Kedey), a son: Uriah was born 20 Feb 1849, sadly Elizabeth died 28 Feb 1849 & soon to follow his mom was Uriah on 20 Mar 1849. Both were buried at Shiloh-Loveless Cemetery on Rt 52.
Pleman married Nancy Ann Anderson on 21 Nov 1849 in Colfax, Clinton Co, Indiana. They emigrated from Indiana to Newcomb Twp 21 Rg 7E in Champaign County, Illinois per Pioneers of Champaign County, Illinois pgs 115 - 116. He purchased 40 acres NW Qtr Sec 18 of Twp 21, before he died he owned 160 acres & this is where he spent the rest of his life.
When he came to Champaign County, he came with Augustus Blacker, Wm. Lane, B. Lester, Geo. Kimble, Sam'l Rhodes, Sam'l & Allen Hubbard, Banes Broderick. In 1856 along came Hiram Trotter, J.H. Funston & Rector & Merrill E. Holloway.
In May 1833 Champaign County formed from the far west side of Vermilion County, Illinois.
