Mrs. Hazel Elenora Mettenbrink, 59, of Rt. 4 died Tuesday in a local hospital. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Eldor Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the church or Heart Fund.

Mrs. Mettenbrink was born Jan. 31, 1918, in Hall County to John and Lena Hann Neubert. She attended District 28 school and married Walter Mettenbrink on Aug. 31, 1937, at Grand Island. They farmed east of Grand Island and later near Chapman. She worked at Fairacres Dairy from 1964 until her health failed. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school. She also was affiliated with the Ruth Society and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Ruth) McGee of Grand Island; three sons, Herbert of Lexington, Harlan of Pampa, Texas, and Rodger of Grand Island; two brothers, Glen of Fremont and Reuben of North Platte; three sisters, Mrs. George Beberniss of Alda, Mrs. Emil Spiehs of Grand Island and Mrs. Katherine Young of Forest Grove, Ore., and 10 grandchildren. Two sisters preceded her in death.
