Icie was the daughter of William Alfred McClanahan (FAG Memorial# 36009446) and Eliza Jane (Rogers) McClanahan (FAG Memorial# 104733288).

She would marry Rufus Noel "R.N." Brooks (FAG Memorial# 36009470) on 18 Nov 1916 in Knox County, TN. Nine children would be born to this union: Anna Mae; Rufus Noel, Jr; Charles Earnest; William Austin; Velma Lorraine; Martha Louise; Mary Ruth; Iva Jean and Bobbie Bell Brooks.

Following their marriage, Icie & Rufus would reside in Knox County through 1920. In 1930 they were living in Sevier County where they would remain for approximately the next 4-years. By 1935, they had moved back to Knox County, where her husband, along with their son, Rufus Noel, Jr., would precede her in death in 1937.

By 1955, Icie was living in Marion, Grant Co, IN, where she was a dishwasher at Barney's Cafeteria, and in 1957 & 1958 she is working as a kitchen helper at Marion General Hospital.

Icie was 80-years of age.
