Daughter of the late John and Erma Hill Buck, she was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Gray Buck. She was survived by her husband, Edwin Lee "Buddy" Nobles (married on July 17, 1959); children, Ricky Nobles (Paula Haddock Nobles), Gerald Nobles (Sue Beamon Nobles), Wanda Gordon (Chris Gordon), Melvin Nobles (Kimberly Brock Nobles) and Kelvin Nobles (Paula Congleton); eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives and friends. Her funeral was held on April 21, 2012, with D.J. Maxey and The Rev. David Linton officiating.Mrs. Linda Fay Buck Nobles, age 73, a resident of 1125 East Barr Road, Chocowinity, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Washington.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by D. J. Maxey and Rev. David Linton. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens of Washington. Michael Gordon, Russell Nobles, Douglas Whitford, Joshua Whitford, Pat Phair and Ronnie Nobles will serve as pallbearers. Joe Nobles and Ronald Nobles will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Nobles was born in Beaufort County on December 13, 1939 to the late John Buck and Erma Hill Buck. On July 17, 1959, she married Edwin Lee "Buddy" Nobles, who survives. Mrs. Nobles was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, of the home, Mrs. Nobles is survived by her children: Ricky Nobles and wife, Paula Haddock Nobles and Gerald Nobles and wife Sue Beamon Nobles all of Chocowinity, Wanda Gordon and husband, Chris Gordon of New Bern, NC, Melvin Nobles and wife Kimberly Brock Nobles of Alaska and Kelvin Nobles and wife Paula Congleton Nobles of Vanceboro, NC, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nobles is preceded in death by a brother Johnny Gray Buck.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home and other times at the home.
