PULASKI — Carl Edward Whitt, 57, of Rt. 2, Box 108, Pulaski, died Sunday morning, Dec. 21, 1997, in the Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N. C.

He was born in Pulaski on March 24, 1940, the son of the late Boyd Whitt and Freda Covey Whitt.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred H. Whitt.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Dickie Kesling of Dublin and Barbara and Garland Collins of Elliston; four sisters, Arleta Morris of Pulaski, Claribel Taylor of Chester, Irene Edwards of Mechanicsville, and Dayna Smythers of Allisonia; three brothers, William Whitt of Newbern, Robert Wliitt of Newbern, and Jerry Whitt of Waterford, Mich.; a special friend, Flossie Gerasco of West Virginia; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bob Parrish and Minister Junior Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski.
