Hazel M. Meyers, 92, passed away April 17, 2013. She was born Feb. 19, 1921, to Grant and Mary Walter in Bonners Ferry.

Hazel went to school in Avery where her father worked on the railroad. She attended beauty school in Coeur d'Alene and was a hair dresser in her own shop until she was in her 80s.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping, hunting, fly fishing, hiking, rafting, spending time at her son's home on the St. Joe River and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hazel is survived by her son, Robert (Sherry) Meyers of Coeur d'Alene; daughter Kathy (Mike) McDowell of Coeur d'Alene; son-in-law Dennis Prosser of Post Falls; grandchildren, Dawn Bennett, Carolyn Hembree, Nicholas McDowell, Heather Paulson, Johnathan Bennett, Bailey Bennett, Kaylee and Quinn Paulson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by several brother and sisters; her husband, Joseph Meyers; daughter JoEllen Prosser and grandson Scott Meyers.

The family asks that memorials be sent to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835, in memory of Hazel's daughter, JoEllen Prosser.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d'Alene.
