Noma Compton, 80, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 22, 2013 at 9th & Columbia Church of Christ with Mr. Kevin Igo officiating and Mr. Evan Weiss assisting. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Noma was born on October 8, 1932 to William and Getty Goodpasture in Lubbock, TX. She attended schools in Wolfforth and then attended Abilene Christian where she met her husband to be. She married Jack Compton on September 7, 1952 in Lubbock. They moved to Plainview in 1968. She was a homemaker, loving wife and mother while James worked at W.R. Grace Fertilizer. She was a member of 9th & Columbia Church of Christ, LaCasa Club, Plainview Art Association, Chamber of Commerce Red Coats. She taught children's bible classes. She was a talented artist.
