Henry Clinton Kenyon was born, on 5 February, 1832 in Mexico, Oswego, New York, to Enos Kenyon and Diana Johnson.
In 1850, Henry is living in Coldwater, Branch, Michigan, with his parents, Enos and Diana, and siblings Susan, George, Harriet, Charles and John.
In 1856, Henry married Celinda M Cook, daughter of Allen and Johanna Cook, in Coldwater.
On 15 August, 1861, Henry and brother Charles enlisted in the military. On 15 October, 1861, they mustered in to Co G, 9th Michigan Infantry. Henry was promoted from Private to Full Corporal on 7 December, 1863. Henry mustered out in December, 1863, and re-enlisted on 25 December, 1863. He was again promoted to Full Sergeant on 1 January, 1865. Henry mustered out on 15 September, 1865,, Nashville, Tennessee.
In 1870, Henry and Celinda are living in Washington, Buchanan, Iowa. Daughter Lena was born in February, 1873.
By 1880, they have moved to Westbury, Buchanan, Iowa.
On the 1895 Iowa state census, the family is living in Jesup, Iowa, and in 1900, they are living in Perry, Buchanan, Iowa.
Celinda died in 1903, Perry, Buchanan, Iowa.
On 26 June, 1906, Henry married Amelia A. Parker Wiley, in Jesup, Buchanan, Iowa.
Henry and Amelia lived in Perry, Buchanan, Iowa, until about 1916, when they were living in Sturgis, St Joseph, Michigan, where Henry died on 22 April, 1916. His body was shipped to Perry, Buchanan, Iowa,, to be placed next to Celinda.
Amelia moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, then on to Los Angeles, California, where she lived with her son Albert Wiley and his family until her death on 17 July, 1940.
